Then they can feast and party long into the night, and start the hunt afresh then next morning. Still, despair not, for even if they fail to become gods, great heroes end up in the Elysian Fields, a glorious battleground where they can daily relive the glory of slaying the monsters they and their fellow heroes have previously defeated in life. So simply doing good deeds, because you want to become a god is never going to cut it. Such a feat is rarely achieved, and many a demi-god has become a great and legendary hero without ever truly earning a spot in the pantheon. The demi-god then must commit an act of true heroism, something significant enough to alter fate, in order to become a god. These demi-gods are not literally half gods, as their surrogate mothers and fathers did not actually contribute any DNA, that's just the term mortals who don't understand the situation gave them (the powerful gods are capable of producing offspring as a pair or alone, but must use a surrogate mortal mother due to Zeus' magical decree). So now gods, or rather demi-gods, are born to mortal surrogates, most of whom never even know the child they're carrying is a demi-god. Zeus therefore decided that future gods should have to prove they're worth of such a position, and the powers and lifespan that come with it, even his own children.

His son Zeus and the others rebelled, and the displacing the old gods, the new ones knew something had to change. Their children were not so, they had godly powers, but they could still die, and witnessed in horror as the Titan Cronos started to consumed his own children. It wasn't always this way, long ago the Titans came into existence as immortal gods, but many were without humanity, immoral, brutal, and monstrous.

And even fewer would believe that they started out practically human. In fact it's funny how few mortals can wrap their head around the idea that the gods are also mortal too, though death is much much rarer for them.
THE DEMIGODS OF OLYMPUS GO TO HIGH SCHOOL SERIES
I've been made aware that Olympus High was the name of the school in a Canadian series called “Class of the Titans”, while this obviously shares a lot of themes with that show (and with Percy Jackson & the Olympians and “Hercules: The Animated Series”), it's not based on it, so there's no spoilers or continuity to worry about in regards to that.įew people understand the true nature of the gods. Champions are humans (or other mortals with GM's permission, generally there will need to be a Greek myth for these) that the gods have given favor to, to aid them in becoming heroes. Demi-gods are young gods who have not yet earned godhood, rather then literal half-gods. Two terms you'll need to understand for this RP are Demi-god and Champion.
THE DEMIGODS OF OLYMPUS GO TO HIGH SCHOOL PLUS
We will only be using Ancient Greek gods in this RP, I apologize now if you wanted a different god, but this is for the sake of the plot, and there's still a ton of options, plus no limit to how many people can use the same god as their parent/patron. As well as references to such things found in Greek myth.

This is rated R because there will probably be violence/gore, cussing, and other mature topics.
